Fall 2015 Anime: My Watching List
Most of Summer 2015 Anime have passed their half season except for 2-cour anime. I still have a few anime to catch up. Nevertheless, we already got a peak on next season's anime. Many of the anime are adapted from light novel and manga, few are original. Some of them are direct sequel of anime that have aired in few last seasons or last year.
Neregate has released Anime Chart for this coming Fall 2015. You can download the chart here: Fall 2015 Anime Chart
Let's take a look on some of anime that I will watch in this upcoming Fall 2015:-
1. Kagewani
A mysterious genre anime about a scientist in his investigation on appearance of monsters. There's still no information about what kind of monsters that will appear in the anime but looking at the promotional poster and its panic suspense genre, I hope its storyline will focus on reasons and factors of monsters' appearance instead of 'Humans VS Monsters' battle.
2. Kidou Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans
A must watch for Gundam fans. The last Gundam series, G no Reconquista didn't impress me much with its (too)fast-paced storyline and feelings that sometimes makes you feel like you are riding a harsh roller-coaster. Not too mention the main Gundam design and other mobile suits look kiddy which makes the war looks like some kind of teen's game play. However, this new Gundam series' synopsis and characters & mecha designs give me an impression that it will focus on a serious tone storyline like other Gundam series. More on the new Gundam series here: Iron-Blooded Orphans Visual.
A sequel of an original anime K and its sequel movie K: Missing Kings which aired in 2012 and 2014 respectively. I have watched K during its broadcast but I haven't watch the sequel movie yet. The movie didn't show the current status of K's main character, Isana Yashiro after the event of season 1 since he went missing in the final episode which demotivate me to watch it. This sequel series will mark the return of Yashiro into the scene.
As a fan of One Punch Man manga, this anime adaptation makes me really happy. The manga is one of the best and you shall start read it if you haven't. Packed with comedy and action. It's about a nameless bald superhero yet world's strongest, Saitama who can defeat monsters easily with just one punch hence, One Punch Man. Catch more info and watch the PV here.
A sequel to Haikyuu!! which originally aired in Spring 2014 and Summer 2014 for 25 episodes. This sequel will tell about next journey of Karasuno High School Volleyball Club after their loss in Interhigh Preliminaries. Their next tournament will be Spring High. If you are looking for a natural sport genre anime which doesn't involve any superhuman strengths or ridiculous talents like in Eyeshield 21 or Prince of Tennis or Kuroko no Basket, try Haikyuu!! for a fresh feeling.
3. K: Return of Kings
4. One Punch Man
As a fan of One Punch Man manga, this anime adaptation makes me really happy. The manga is one of the best and you shall start read it if you haven't. Packed with comedy and action. It's about a nameless bald superhero yet world's strongest, Saitama who can defeat monsters easily with just one punch hence, One Punch Man. Catch more info and watch the PV here.
5. Haikyuu!! Second Season
6. Ore ga Ojou-sama Gakkou ni "Shomin Sample" Toshite Gets Sareta Ken
(Story in Which I Was Kidnapped by a Young Lady's School to be a "Sample of the Common People")
What a long title!!! Let's shorten it to "Shomin Sample". I don't know much about this coming anime. It's an adaptation from light novel series. The story is about a boy who got kidnapped by an academy of elite young ladies as a sample of common people for female students who never have any experience with boys. Yes, people. It's a harem anime.
7. Concrete Revolutio: Choujin Gensou
Another superhero anime like One Punch Man. From its PV, this anime has make itself different than One Punch Man. The superheroes and enemies use mecha. This original anime is from Studio Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Captain Earth, Eureka Seven, Star Driver). Be sure to check this anime if you're a fan of Bones' works. With Bones' experience in mecha anime, the mecha battle scenes are something to be anticipated.
8. Shinmai Maou no Testament BURST
A sequel to its 1st season that aired in last Winter 2015. About a guy named Toujou Basara who's exalted from Hero Clan and his new female family members consists of a devil, succubus, and childhood friend. An ecchi-romance-harem anime packed with action and actual storyline. Much like Highschool DxD in some senses.
9. Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen
There was an anime called Utawarerumono back in 2006. It still not confirm whether this new Utawarerumono is a remake of the original 2006 series or a sequel of it. It's been confirmed that this anime is scheduled for 2-cour broadcast. There's not much information available for this series but considering that it will air for 2 seasons makes it appealing into my list.
10. Heavy Object
An anime adaptation of Heavy Object light novel series originally created by Kazuma Kamachi, the same person who create the popular Toaru Majutsu no Index (A certain Magical Index) light novel series. That reason alone is enough for me to try this anime.
11. Owari no Seraph 2nd Season
A sequel of its first season which aired last Spring 2015. From the beginning of 1st season, I already knew that there is no way 12 episodes will be enough and luckily the second season was announced right after the final episode ended. In this sequel, I want to see how Yuichiro will master his sword and unique power like what he showed in the final episode although at that time he's in berserk mode.
12. Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry
(A Chivalry of the Failed Knight)
The story is about modern magic users who fight with weapons converted from their souls. Wait... Weapons converted from souls? The concept is like in Absolute Duo anime that aired in Winter 2015. I got a bit worried because Absolute Duo was a disappointment to me. So I went to check out its manga adaptation under the same title. So far, I enjoy the manga. The battle and storyline are not bad (at the very least, not as bad as Absolute Duo). From my evaluation on the manga, this new anime looks promising.
13. Owarimonogatari
The end is coming. "Final Season" arc of Monogatari Series is coming soon. What will be the final fate of Araragi Koyomi?
14. Garo: Guren no Tsuki
The sequel of Garo: Honoo no Kokuin which aired in Fall 2014. Unlike the 1st season which happened in Europe, the 2nd season will be set in Heian period of Japan. I hope they will tell how Garo armor ends up in Japan. Animenewsnetwork said that there will be a female protagonist but for sure she's not Golden Knight Garo as women are not able to become Makai Knight.
15. World Trigger: Isekai Kara no Toubousha
World Trigger anime has aired for almost a year by now and it is scheduled to have 50 episodes which is going to end soon in this summer. Is this new World Trigger: Isekai Kara no Toubousha anime a sequel? Too bad it's not a sequel. It's safer to say that this new anime is a spin-off of World Trigger.
16. Komori-san wa Kotowarenai!
As a fan of comedy, slice-of-life genre anime, this anime is not to be missed. It's about a girl in junior high who cannot refuse other people's requests. But don't be misunderstood. The girl does not get bullied and the story is about her school life with her two close friends.
17. Hidan no Aria AA
A spin-off series of Hidan no Aria anime that aired in Spring 2011. The story is focused on Mamiya Akari and her strife in getting Kanzaki H. Aria (female protagonist of original series) to become her partner. Since I have watched the original series, I might as well check out this spin-off.
18. Young Black Jack
If you know Osamu Tezuka, you will surely know one of his brilliant work, Black Jack. Black Jack is about Dr. Black Jack, an unlicensed doctor but among the best surgeon in the world. His medical charges will make your jaw drops. This prequel will tell about his life when he was a medical student back in 1960s. There is a live-action drama movie under title of Young Black Jack which was broadcasted in 2011. You might want to check out the movie if you're new to Black Jack.
19. Noragami Aragoto
A second season to Noragami that aired in Winter 2014. It follows Yato, a poor minor deity of war without shrine and he run a Wish Granting Service with his shiki/assistant, young boy Yukine. Sometimes, his human acquaintance, Hiyori helps him in his business. The first season was really satisfying and there's no way I will miss out its next season.
There are many more anime that will come in this Fall 2015 and maybe I will add some more into my list when the season actually starts. Tell me if there's any interesting Fall 2015 anime that I miss out in my list.
